Welcome to Seattle Chefs Collaborative
This is the official blog for all of Seattle Chefs Collaborative’s Meet & Greets, as well as a place for members to post their events.
Meet & Greets are held eight times each year, each one hosted by a different venue, and each with a different focus topic. Meet & Greets are designed to provide an educational opportunity for Seattle Chefs Collaborative members to help them meet our mission of producing delicious cuisine using local and/or sustainably-produced ingredients and sustainable business practices. Topics range from Washington Cheese to Sea Salt to Fair Trade to Pasture-Raised Beef to Lake Washington Crawfish. Each Meet & Greet focuses on a single topic, with local experts and producers working with the host chef to produce an evening of information sharing on the topic, as well as topic representative sample fare.
Meet & Greets also serve to bring our local and sustainable professional food community together on a regular basis. It reminds us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves — a true movement — and that by working together, we will build a just, strong and sustainable local food system in Seattle and throughout Washington state.
For a list of upcoming Meet & Greets, check the Meet & Greet Calendar.

All but two Meet & Greets each year are for members only, so if you are not a member, we encourage you to go to the Seattle Chefs Collaborative Home Page and join. Nevertheless, not every member can attend every Meet & Greet. To that end, we venture to supply you with some of the information you missed on this blog, though we cannot through these pages supply you with any leftovers from a past month’s feast. And remember, each May, we present our annual Washington Cheese Meet & Greet, the largest of them all, which welcomes non-members, so they can get a taste of how our Meet & Greets work, and get a taste of great Washington cheese, too! And every October we have another Meet & Greet with a rotating topic that is open to non-members. Past topics have included Food Recovery and Bivalves & Beer, with Sustainable Sushi planned for 2009. So peruse our pages and learn what Seattle Chefs Collaborative Meet & Greets are all about, and we hope to see you at one in the very near future. You will find a directory of past Meet & Greets in the right-hand margin menu.
